Welcome to the Grey Castle Strength Chamber
Requirements include: a demonstrated willingness to assist others; a consistent and meaningful effort put toward self-improvement; and a lack of ego in weightlifting and in academics that translates to the ability to continually grow and learn.
The motto of the chamber is: Chop Wood, Carry Water.
CHOP WOOD
The ability to harness fire makes us human. (LINK) But fire requires work. Early humans - "Cavers" and every subsequent generation that followed - had to work extremely hard day in and day out to chop the wood that became life-giving for others. It is not glamorous work, but difficult physical labor can help us appreciate the luxuries we now enjoy, and it can harden us to be able to endure life's challenges as well.
CARRY WATER
Carrying water is a symbol of citizenship. Like chopping wood, it is a strenuous physical task. Water sloshes in buckets and pails, making it feel even heavier than it is. However, the willingness to carry water to bring it to others - literally or figuratively - is what makes us valuable members of a tribe.
